Favorite Winter Hiking Weather and Locations

It's a cold morning here in East Tennessee, as I took some bird food out to the feeder. But, there isn't any winter storm here in Claiborne County and the sky is blue. The temps are going to reach about 40 degrees later in the day. It's the perfect day for a hike in the mountains off-trail. So, what is your favorite winter hike and temps for doing it?

Bent Arm Manway

This is a classic Smokies manway experience that we completed a while back.  If there were ever a trail that needs to be put back on the map, in my opinion, it is this one.  Of course, that would piss off all us bushwhackers and I know who clips that one out for us.  Finding the start of this route is the toughest part.  And I'm not going to tell.  The manway story is at the end of this trip report.

BACKCOUNTRY TAX FEEASCO the unedited and uncensored edition
