Thanks John! was an awesome trip and glad we ran into you guys. Already planning the next one, we will be in touch. Good call on that View, I noticed you posted a pic of it...Mel got a nice panorama shot I'll be putting up soon.
The info on Hensley Settlement is most inspiring - we arranged to spend an autumn day at the Settlement awhile ago with a ranger - such great places we have reserved - Yes, 100 years from now, I too hope our lands will belong to the people. I sincerely hope so.
John, Perhaps you have me confused with someone else. I an not a horse person...unless it is because of me being a Kentuckian! ;~D
Anyway I want to suggest that you suggest/recommend a letter writing campaign on the blog to The White House . It is fairly simple to do but I found writing it as a doc then copying it into the comment box easiest. Complaining at the local level is obviously not going to help it seems.
Thanks John! I just made my first backcountry hike and stayed 2 nights up Deep Creek this past Oct. I never saw any signs of overcrowding and see this recent effort to incorporate fees as nothing but govt greed out of control. Thanks to yourself and others who are seeking to bring some light to bare on this and other important issues!
